Using Rascal
Rascal is free, open-source software. You can download, run, study, modify, and share it under the terms of its license.
- It’s free. No purchase, no subscription, no account. Tips via Ko-fi are voluntary and never required.
- Open source. The full source is public on GitHub, and you’re welcome to use and contribute to it.
License
Rascal’s source code is released under the MIT License. In short, you’re free to use, copy, modify, and distribute it, provided the copyright notice and license text travel with it. The full text lives in the LICENSE file.
No warranty
Rascal is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use it at your own risk.
It’s a file manager, so it can move, rename, and delete files: please keep backups of anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors are not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability — including any loss of data — arising from the use of Rascal or this website.
Third-party services
Rascal links to and relies on third-party services — GitHub (hosting and downloads), Homebrew (installation), and Ko-fi (optional tips). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we’re not responsible for their content or availability.
